Too many parents don’t understand that their children are not getting a quality education. The  communication between parents and schools has continued to diminish and the families and caregivers in this community are not being listened to by administrators and policy makers. Too many parents have children with special accommodations such as IEPs, 504s, dyslexia among others that are ignored. Too many parents feel alone in this fight.

MindshiftED changes that. We reach out to parents, welcome them into our movement and educate them so they can effectively advocate for their children. Our Fellowship creates a safe community to have difficult conversations. Our parents tell their stories, giving words to the injustices their children face. Parents learn to challenge the status quo and the systems that have been created to deny our children their right to a quality education.

Our school board members and superintendents know the data. Our children are underperforming and are attending failing schools. Half of the population cannot read at grade level. We are holding those in power who are responsible for the success and wellbeing of our children accountable. We are a grassroots, feet-on-the-ground movement disrupting the system. We are empowering parents!
